Before #hiphop was usurped and became the marketing arm of the private prison industry, artists were awakening. Rappers were remembering who they were. Music was becoming a golden bridge in which we danced to our divinity and acquired our godhood. Then everything went dark. All mics died silently. What happened to hip hop? What happened to the culture? When the lights came back on all you could smell was exploitation, #Hollywood whores, and codeine. There was no more bridge, or gods, and everything was dumbed down.
